We're getting married!
OCTOBER 17 & 18, 2025
CASTELL D'EMPORDA, SPAIN
Weekend Schedule
We're planning two days of fun in the Emporda region of Spain, at a castle in the middle of vineyards. Here are the details of the weekend!
Friday October 17
12pm - Transportation from Barcelona
We will have a bus leaving from Barcelona heading to the venue. If you plan to join us on the bus, please indicate so in your RSVP form below. The bus will leave from the following address: Carrer del Doctor Aiguader, 16, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
2pm - Welcome Lunch
To welcome our guests, we’ll have a light lunch of sandwiches and refreshments at the Tres Margarit restaurant at the Castell d'Emporda. Of course, we’ll have some Spanish specialities included!
Dress Code: Casual Attire - you'll just be getting off the bus, so no need to change into anything fancy yet!
6pm - Sangeet
The night before the wedding, we’ll get the excitement up with prepared performances by Alex and Ameya’s friends and family. We’ll have stalls with Indian street food, and then open up the dance floor to get warmed up for the big day!
Dress Code: Indian Formal Attire - the night will be full of Indian music, decorations, food and henna!
SATURDAY OCTOBER 18
12PM - LUNCH
We can't start the wedding day without a good lunch! We'll meet at the Tres Margarit restaurant for a special paella lunch, to get ourselves (and our bellies!) warmed up for the big day. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Emporda region from the restaurant while trying two types of paella!
Dress Code: Indian or Western Formal Attire - we’d love to see you in bright, cheerful colors for this part of the day!
1:30pm Baraat & Ceremony
We'll meet at the hotel reception to start the baraat, the groom’s procession into the wedding ceremony, where he’s accompanied on foot by his friends and family. We’ll be dancing and making noise leading into the Hindu ceremony, which will take place in the outdoor olive grove and last about an hour.
Dress Code: Indian or Western Formal Attire - you'll head here right after lunch, so no need to change.
6:30pm Cocktail Hour & Reception
We'll start with a cocktail hour on the outdoor terrace, and we'll then head to the covered pergola area for dinner, speeches, and the first dances. After that, we'll move to the underground La Cova area to dance the night away and enjoy an open bar!
Dress Code: Indian or Western Formal Attire - this is the time to go all out with your evening glam!
SUNDAY OCTOBER 19
9AM - Goodbye Breakfast
Meet us at El Drac Restaurant at the Castell d'Emporda for a last hurrah to close out the weekend!
Dress Code: Casual Attire - we'll all be tired from partying the night away!
For travelers
How to get to our venue
Our wedding venue is about an hour and a half away by car from Barcelona. We will be providing transportation to the venue from Barcelona on Friday and back from the venue on Sunday.
For our out of town guests, we recommend flying into Barcelona International Airport (BCN). If you are planning to join us on the bus from Barcelona, please make sure that your flight arrival and departure leave enough room for you to get from Barcelona airport to the pickup point below!
The pickup and dropoff points in Barcelona will be at Carrer del Doctor Aiguader, 16, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
If you'd prefer to arrive on your own, we would recommend renting a car. Some car rental companies require international drivers' licenses, so if you don't have one of those, we would recommend Sixt - they let you rent with an American driver's license.
Where to stay in Barcelona city
Here are some of our favorite hotels, in case you are spending some time in the city before or after our wedding celebrations. A rental apartment can also be a good option for larger groups.
Hotel Brummell, Poble Sec
The Hoxton, Poble Nou
Casa Bonay, Eixample Dreta
NH Collection (various locations throughout the city. The Barcelona Podium location or anything nearby is great!)
How to get around Barcelona
The city of Barcelona is very walkable, and public transit (the metro and bus) work very well. You can also use taxis, but we usually just hail them from the street - please note that apps that you're used to using (like Uber) may not work or have as much availability in Barcelona as they do in other countries!
